Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

POSITION PURPOSE:

Works in collaboration with physicians and medical professionals to deliver high quality anesthesia and pain care services for medical procedures. Provides care to patients before, during, and after procedures.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Perform and document the pre-anesthesia assessment and evaluation of the patient.
2. Prepares the patient for anesthesia.
3. Obtain informed consent for anesthesia and related services.
4. Select, obtain, order, and administer pre-anesthetic medication or treatment.
5. Develop and implement an anesthesia care plan.
6. Select, obtain, prepare, and use equipment, invasive and non-invasive monitors, supplies, and drugs for the administration of sedation, anesthesia, and pain management services; perform safety checks as needed.
7. Select, order, obtain, and administer analgesic and anesthetic agents, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, fluids, or blood products necessary to provide anesthesia services.
8. Administers and maintains anesthesia to ensure proper sedation and pain management during procedure.
9. Perform all aspects of airway management, including fiberoptic intubation.
10. Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia by evaluating patient response, and selecting, ordering, and administering medications, fluids, and ventilator support to maintain patient stability during transfer.
11. Initiate and administer post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support of the cardiovascular system.
12. Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation in the post-anesthesia period.
13. Evaluate the patient’s response to anesthesia and surgery; take appropriate corrective action during the post-anesthesia period.
14. Provide post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care.
15. Discharge the patient from the post-anesthesia care unit.
16. Implement acute and chronic pain management modalities.
17. Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, including providing airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
18. Supports patient safety when performing his or her job functions and through participation in facility, department or unit patient safety initiatives.
19. Seeks ongoing professional educational growth.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to perform clinically as a nurse anesthetist in the facility setting on a regular basis.
2. Ability to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment to perform anesthesia care as well as necessary perioperative or operating room care to support the safety and wellbeing of the patient while they are under the direct care of the CRNA.
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively collaborate with various clinical staff and other disciplines.
4. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
5. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
6. Knowledge of infection prevention and control techniques.
7. Ability to maintain confidential records.
8. Ability to implement and adhere to facility policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Holds current active state licensure as a registered nurse in the state of TN and complies with any applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs.
2. Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor.
3. Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
4. Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess visual and auditory abilities to communicate with patients. Requires gross and fine motor skills to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, and reach. Requires working with patients with physical and/or mental disorders. Manual dexterity needed.

DEGREE of SUPERVISION:
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Mammo / X-Ray Tech

POSITION PURPOSE:

Performs mammographic and x-ray procedures to produce imaging using mammography technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically conducts mammography exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physician and records. This position would mainly be responsible for mammography, but able to perform x-rays if needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Licenses or Certifications:

State licensure if required. American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification as recommended by ACR and FDA. BCLS required.

Total education, vocational training and experience:

Graduated from an accredited school of Radiological Technology program. Three (3) years of mammography experience preferred.

Patient Services Representative

POSITION PURPOSE:

Provide courteous assistance to patients and physician offices while scheduling and registering patients for procedures.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

3. Excellent communication skills to communicate with patients.
4. Ability to perform while under stress.
5. Ability to document accurately and concisely.

PRN MRI TECHNOLOGIST

POSITION PURPOSE:

Provide courteous and efficient service while performing MR scans on an as needed basis.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Thorough knowledge and skillset in performing MR scan.

ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST

POSITION PURPOSE:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Pre-certification Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Pre-Certification Specialist monitors appropriateness and medical necessity, and provides necessary information for authorization and continued visits. This person will confirm pre-certifications that have been obtained or will obtain pre-certifications if needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Detail orientated

2. Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in an independent environment.

3. Strong communication and organizational skills.

4. Working knowledge of medical billing and managed care.

5. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Reviewing information for continued visits management including type and duration of service, authorization and treatment codes, re-authorization and continued visit requirements necessary for ongoing treatment.

2. Responsible for obtaining and communicating pre-authorization as needed per insurance company requirements.

3. Responsible for tracking, obtaining, and extending authorizations from various carries in a timely manner.

4. Verify receipt of all necessary pre-authorization documents prior to the procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of medical terminology.

2. Familiarity with different insurance types.

3. 1 year of pre-certification experience preferred.
