MISSY BEASLEY, MD
A practicing radiologist since 2019
Dr. Beasley is a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist specializing in neuroradiology. A native of Mayfield, Kentucky, Dr. Beasley attended the University of Kentucky for college and medical school. She then completed a transitional internship year in Newport News, Virginia followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Beasley completed her training with a neuroradiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Beasley engaged in research throughout her training, including accepted works with the Society of Thoracic Radiology, International Skeletal Society and the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR). She most recently presented research focusing on early stroke imaging and iron deposition in pediatric neurologic conditions at the ASNR. Dr. Beasley has also participated in multiple quality improvement projects, which focused on appropriate imaging in patients with low back pain, standardization of arthrogram technique and improvements in surgical site sterilization. She is very involved with the ACR and its local affiliations, serving as the UAB resident ambassador to the Alabama Academy of Radiology throughout residency. Through this experience, she was able to meet with legislators on capitol hill and work to affect change in medical legislation, insurance coverage and reimbursement.
Dr. Beasley is currently single with family located in western Kentucky, including her parents, sister and brother. She also has three beautiful nieces, Lilly, Alexis, and Emmie. She is an avid reader, enjoying both classic and current literature. She also enjoys movies and the theater. Lastly, Dr. Beasley is an avid sports fan and actively supports the University of Kentucky. Go Wildcats!
