Dr. Ponting is a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist specializing in interventional radiology. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, Dr. Ponting attended Murray State University for his undergraduate studies, followed by the University of Kentucky College of Medicine for his medical degree. He completed his transitional year training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, before completing a radiology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Ponting then completed a vascular and interventional radiology fellowship at Stanford University Health Care in Palo Alto, California.
 
Dr. Ponting’s wife Lauren is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a nurse in Nashville. He enjoys golfing, traveling, cooking and watching football, basketball, golf and hockey.
