Dr. Thorburn is a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist specializing in diagnostic imaging. He earned his degree in medicine from the University of Tennessee Memphis College of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the University of Arkansas.

 

Dr. Thorburn is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds memberships in the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA), the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).

 
Before attending medical school, Dr. Thorburn graduated with a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. Dr. Thorburn has served in many executive levels of MidState Radiology as well as Chief of Radiology at MTMC, Stones River Hospital and Dekalb Community Hospital. He is actively involved with the MTMC Physician Planning Committee as well as serving on the Medical Executive Committee.

 
Dr. Thorburn enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities as well as spending his free time with friends and family. He and he wife Shelly have three dogs and a cat.
